History

Caseificio Bazzanese (number 3511) was founded in 1968 by 8 members who - since then - have always been involved with passion and dedication in the production and processing of Parmigiano Reggiano at the dairy based in Bazzano Valsamoggia (BO). In 2014, Caseificio Bazzanese merged with Castelletese dairy in Castello di Serravalle, joining the classic taste of the plain to the genuine flavor of the hill. In 2016, the new seasoning warehouse and an additional sales outlet opened in Castello di Serravalle; while - in 2019 - major renovations began at the Bazzano plant, guaranteeing modern processing. In 2019, Caseificio Bazzanese won the first prize among the 7 winners of the Parmigiano Reggiano palios, at Fico Eataly World.

The consortium

Officially born in 1934, the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium has grown over the years, carrying on the art and tradition of a historic product, excellence and symbol of Made in Italy food. By bringing together all the producing dairies, the Parmigiano Reggiano Consortium pursues the fundamental tasks of affixing the marks in accordance with the Protected Designation of Origin (PDO) Regulations, supervision of the correct use of trademarks and protection from counterfeiting. Today, as from its birth, the Consortium is engaged all over the world in the protection of the denomination and the brand, in the defense of typicality and in the promotion and enhancement of the King of cheeses.
